Gerard Vaughan, the New Zealand Project Manager for Farmstrong (a wellbeing programme for the rural community, with the aim of helping rural people and farmers to ‘live well, farm well’) has visited recently. He’s in Scotland working with a small group of farmers and crofters to replicate the programme (which started in New Zealand) here in Scotland.
The initiative is focused on giving wellbeing tips and offering support, using peer to peer learning through various channels and events. Dourie supports this initiative wholeheartedly – we can’t farm properly, and also be there for our families, if we don’t look after our mental wellbeing.
